Victorian Terrace House in London lovingly restored and carefully upgraded with a modern twist
Our clients love socialising with friends and hosting. With a fast growing family and a traditional victorian layout – slightly too small and not fit for purpose, our main intervention was to extend the kitchen and dining area by excavating the existing floor and extending into the rear garden. This included some landscape gardening and structural works to the front and back garden areas. Internal hidden concealed sliding doors allow the kitchen and dining area to be closed off when hosting. The traditional staircase was continued down to the lower levels and the classical staircase design reinterpreted as a modern white washed oak version. Black steal and antique brass finishes with a minimalist design language were used in the kitchen, bathroom and Wc as well as other areas to sympathetically marry the old and new.
Original features were restored. A paired back design approach and carefully chosen finishes, furniture and lighting was introduced to create this wholesome and peaceful home for years to come.
